The StoneHill Group has hired Harold Ellis as underwriting manager, where he will be responsible for overseeing all of the company's mortgage underwriting solutions.

Ellis has more than 10 years of experience in mortgage operations and underwriting. Most recently, he served as mortgage operations manager at First Commerce Credit Union in Tallahassee, Fla., where he managed and developed a team of mortgage loan officers, underwriters, processors, compliance staff, pricing coordinators and post-closing auditors. Ellis has held management positions at several large mortgage lenders, including Chase Mortgage, PHH Mortgage and Bank of America.

"Harold's underwriting expertise and track record of performance working for some of the industry's biggest players make him a valuable addition to The StoneHill Group," said David Green, founder and CEO of The StoneHill Group. "We have no doubt that Harold's success in demanding, high-profile lending roles will serve our clients well, especially those who rely on The StoneHill Group for quality underwriting. We are delighted to welcome him aboard."

The StoneHill Group has experienced a 60 percent increase in staff over past year thanks to growing demand from lenders needing assistance with new lending regulations, such as the recent TILA/RESPA Integrated Disclosure (TRID) rules.

"It's an honor to join The StoneHill Group, which has such a rich tradition in the mortgage industry for improving loan quality," Ellis said. "I look forward to making sure all lenders who come to us for help receive the impeccable underwriting services to which they've grown accustomed."
