U.S. Bank has announced that it will hire 200 people for its St. Louis-based mortgage banking business

U.S. Bank has announced that it will hire 200 people for its St. Louis-based mortgage banking business.
 
According to a St. Louis Post-Dispatch report, the new hiring spree comes after the Minneapolis-headquartered U.S. Bank created more than 150 jobs in the St. Louis area. The bank's mortgage unit employs 551 people divided between in Earth City, Mo., and 183 employees in downtown St. Louis.
 
U.S. Bank reported that its residential mortgage volume increased 6.1 percent from January through mid-year, compared with the same time period in 2016.
