Employees of Mortgage Network Inc. recently spent time rebuilding the home of Sueheil Campbell, a widow whose husband was one of the first soldiers killed in the Iraq War.

Campbell lost her husband in 2007 and has two children. She purchased a home soon after losing her husband to fulfill his dream of buying a home for his family. Campbell's home soon fell into disrepair.

Rebuilding Together Boston asked the Massachusetts Mortgage Bankers Association and Mortgage Network to provide volunteers and resources to repair Campbell's home. As a result, 12 Mortgage Network employees worked alongside other volunteers to weatherize the home, replace storm doors and windows, repair doors and walls, paint the kitchen ceiling, install smoke and CO monitors, and fix the back deck.

"My entire office looks forward to participating in this event every year," said Ben McKillop, Branch Manager of Mortgage Network's Boston office. "We clear our schedules to make this event a top priority because of our passion for giving back to the community. We love meeting the veteran's family, who are so deserving of our help. I personally feel it's the least we can do and I'm grateful to lend a helping hand every year."
