Appraisal Institute Publishes 2nd Edition of "Subdivision Valuation"

The Appraisal Institute has released a second edition of Don M. Emerson Jr.’s book “Subdivision Valuation,” which focuses on the methodology used in valuing existing and proposed single-unit residential subdivisions.
 
In the new edition of the 293-page book, Emerson introduces issues including developer risk reduction strategies, lot sales to potential homeowners, proposed construction performance bonds and super pad sites. Also considered is guidance on how to avoid common valuation errors and new case studies to illustrate lot presales, mortgage financing, bulk sale forecasts and the time-zero profit dilemma.
 
“This second edition of ‘Subdivision Valuation’ provides a comprehensive overview of the methodology used in valuing single-unit residential subdivisions,” wrote Appraisal Institute President and Acting CEO Jim Amorin in the book’s foreword.
