Norcom Cares, the non-profit subsidiary of Norcom Mortgage and Insurance, donated almost $30,000 to local and national charities associated with its employees in 2017. The foundation, whose mission statement reads, “All grants and donations will be provided to area causes, charities, events and other community development projects that benefit the communities where we work and live,” raised funds through major events like their Norcom Cares Golf Tournament, and their first annual Beer and Wine Tasting.

Norcom Mortgage, which has branch locations throughout the United States, grants donation requests from its employees not only for national organizations such as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Special Olympics, and Susan G. Komen, but also local schools, parks, environmental causes and shelters.

“I am continuously in awe of the generosity and dedication of our amazing employees who recognize the importance of giving back to their communities,” said Norcom Mortgage President and CEO Philip DeFronzo. “Norcom Cares has grown tremendously since its founding, and to help so many individuals and organizations in need on a local and national level is truly rewarding. To discover the interests and passions of those who make up this company is a favorite part of my job, and I am confident in the charitable impact Norcom Cares will have in years to come.”

In December, Norcom Cares was able to donate $1,000 to its Fall River Branch Toy Drive, which went towards the purchase of 500 toys.

“Norcom Cares made hundreds of children happy this holiday season and is truly the heart and soul of Norcom Mortgage and Insurance. We are so proud to be part of this amazing organization,” said Norcom Loan Officer Donna Winn.

John Micheletti of Norcom’s Cranston, R.I. branch, was recently elected to serve as President of the Board of Directors for Upper Room Ministries, a non-profit charitable organization.

“Within one week of filling out a donation request, Norcom Cares responded with a generous donation,” said Micheletti. “The response fills my heart with gratitude. To see a company align their core beliefs with real action encourages me to continue to give back by serving those in need within my community. I am truly blessed to be part of the Norcom family.”
