In 2017, LenderSelect Mortgage Group
partnered with local and national groups to lend a hand through its community outreach channel: LSMG Lifeline, managed by Shannon Anderson, LenderSelect’s Lending and Training Manager.
“The purpose of LSMG Lifeline is to bring together LenderSelect’s employees from across the country to give back to our communities,” said Anderson. “We want to make a difference and believe that to be that difference, you must take action. Even the smallest initiative can generate a ripple of change.”
Over the course of the past year, LSMG Lifeline participated in the following initiatives:
►Pay it Forward February: A program supported by LSMG Lifeline for the entire month of February in which employees are encouraged to act by “paying it forward” with random acts of kindness. This is a company-wide initiative in which the employees are provided the resources to participate and make an impact in someone’s life.
►St. Joseph’s Villa: The longest continuously operating children’s non-profit organization in the country. St. Joseph’s serves about 3,000 children and families each year who are facing mental illness, homelessness, autism, and other challenges. In 2017, LSMG Lifeline helped provide 50 Valentines for disabled children on Valentine’s Day; created more than 250 Easter eggs for the Great Egg Hunt; and collected supplies to fill 25 backpacks for the Back to School program for underprivileged children.
►Operation Gratitude: A non-profit organization that sends care packages to U.S. troops, first responders, veterans, wounded veterans, and military families. In 2017, LSMG Lifeline wrote thank you cards and letters to be mailed to our heroes; and LenderSelect employees’ families and children drew pictures to send to heroes both near and far.
►Ronald McDonald House: An organization that provides resources and care to children and their families while they’re being treated in hospitals worldwide. In 2017, LSMG Lifeline created 120 grab and go snack bags for families with loved ones undergoing long-term care in the hospital.
►Giving Heart Organization “Community Thanksgiving Feast:” An event that started in 2005 that brings together approximately 3,000 guests and volunteers to provide food for the homeless, elderly, working class families, the local military, and those who otherwise would be alone during the holidays. In 2017, LSMG Lifeline donated more than 100 pounds of canned goods and non-perishable food items, contributed candy centerpieces for the feast tables, and made blankets distributed at the Community Feast.
►U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program: An initiative to collect toys during October, November, and December and distributes those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community. In 2017, LSMG Lifeline donated nearly 100 new, unwrapped toys to children in need.
In 2017, LenderSelect Mortgage Group also volunteered with and donated to Habitat for Humanity, the Richmond SPCA, Dress for Success, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Relay for Life, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
