Move over, “.com” and “.net,” because the National Association of Realtors (NAR) announced it will introduce a new Internet domain later this year known as “.realestate.”

The new domain will become available to NAR members in a pre-sale offering in September, while real estate professionals who are not NAR members will be able to access it in November. This is NAR’s second foray into Internet domains, with a .realtor address available to NAR members and affiliated businesses.

“NAR is thrilled to launch our second top-level domain, .realestate, to help real estate professionals and businesses better connect with home buyers, sellers, investors and owners, and remain essential to every real estate transaction,” said NAR President Elizabeth Mendenhall, who is also CEO of RE/MAX Boone Realty in Columbia, Mo. “Making use of this pioneering technology will help them to market themselves and their listings, services or resources in new and creative ways.”
