The integration lets mortgage professionals move Canva designs into targeted advertising while preserving lenders’ compliance-review controls

Adwerx has integrated its digital advertising platform with Canva, allowing mortgage loan originators to move designs directly into ad campaigns without downloading and reuploading files.

The integration is available to individual mortgage professionals and enterprise mortgage clients, Adwerx confirmed to NMP. Any originator with an Adwerx account can import an existing Canva design into the Adwerx ad builder and use it to create a campaign.

For mortgage companies, however, the streamlined design process does not eliminate compliance oversight. Ads submitted by originators will continue through the lender’s existing review and approval process before they can go live.

“The integration does not change the existing compliance workflow,” Nick Adams, a spokesperson for Adwerx, told NMP. “Once a loan officer imports their design and submits the campaign, it passes through Adwerx’s standard lender compliance review and approval process — the compliance team retains full ability to review, approve, or reject before anything goes live.”

That distinction matters for mortgage professionals who want greater control over their individual marketing but operate within company and regulatory advertising requirements. Originators can create or customize campaigns in Canva, while lenders maintain their existing authority over the finished advertisements.

“All current lender controls and approval processes remain intact,” Adams said.

Once a design is approved and imported, Adwerx handles the campaign’s bidding, audience targeting, and optimization. Campaigns can run across the web, Meta platforms, streaming television, and digital out-of-home advertising, depending on the Adwerx product selected.

“Agents were already designing in Canva,” Reed Emmons, chief technology officer at Adwerx, said. “The friction was getting those designs into Adwerx. We closed that gap — now a finished design becomes a live campaign in a few clicks, no downloading, no switching tabs.”

Adwerx operates a separate mortgage platform serving individual originators, brokerages, banks, credit unions, and enterprise lenders. Its mortgage advertising products include ZIP code campaigns, database and referral-partner advertising, website retargeting, streaming television, video, and digital out-of-home campaigns.

Enterprise mortgage customers can use an Adwerx compliance dashboard to review campaigns, lock certain advertising elements, and approve or reject ads created by originators. The company also offers personalized templates that automatically populate an MLO’s contact information.

The Canva integration is available across Adwerx’s advertising products at no additional charge and does not require a paid Canva subscription, according to the company.
