Plaza Home Mortgage has announced its sixth annual donation program to support
Susan G. Komen San Diego. For the month of October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Plaza will make a donation to Komen San Diego based on its total month-end loan volume.
For the past six years, Plaza has contributed more than $450,000 to Komen San Diego. Plaza’s contributions have helped thousands of women get free mammograms, biopsies, ultrasounds, care coordination, education and financial assistance for breast cancer patients’ most critical needs during treatment. This year, Plaza’s support will be designated to helping women and their families who need assistance covering living expenses, like rent or a mortgage, while they are going through treatment.
“October marks the beginning of a month focused on spreading breast cancer awareness and it is an honor to partner with Komen San Diego again this year. Our annual partnership is a testament of our commitment to making a difference in the lives of all those facing breast cancer,” said Kevin Parra, Chief Executive Officer and President of Plaza Home Mortgage. “We are proud to be one of Komen San Diego’s largest corporate contributors, as breast cancer has impacted the lives of many Plaza employees, clients, friends and family members.”
Shaina Gross, President and Chief Executive Officer of Komen San Diego, said, “Plaza is a true champion in our mission to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in San Diego County and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer. Plaza’s commitment to our cause signifies a business our community can trust to create a better environment for all.”
