Mama T's B&B receives donation from Gateway Mortgage Group

Gateway Mortgage Group has donated to various non-profit organizations through the company’s Charity Challenge. The program rewards the highest-ranking branches in several key performance metrics by giving donations to non-profits of their choice.

Over the past three years, Gateway donated more than $90,000 through its Charity Challenge helping support families and communities. The mortgage company focuses on non-profits, which helps fulfill its mission of strengthening families.

“We are happy to honor our hardworking team members by giving them recognition for their dedication and empowering them to share that success with people in need,” said Hobie Higgins, Gateway’s Chief Community Engagement Officer. “The holidays can leave families strapped for cash, so we hope our donations will let them focus on their loved ones rather than a lack of resources.”

This year, four branches received the honor: Ada, Okla.; Stillwater, Okla.; McPherson, Kansas; and Matagorda, Texas. The branches support multiple non-profits, including homeless shelters, food pantries, organizations dedicated to ending poverty and after-school programs.

Teri Treadway, Branch Manager of Gateway’s Matagorda location, said her employees work as a team to achieve their goals so they can protect their community’s most vulnerable citizens.

“We want everyone in our community to feel cared for and safe,” Treadway said. “The non-profits we selected will bless many people and achieve Gateway’s goal of strengthening communities and families.”

The Ada branch selected Mama T's B&B, a new homeless shelter that provides emergency services to an average of 25 people per night. The shelter hopes to eventually be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“We are immensely thankful to Gateway Mortgage Group for helping us progress toward our goal,” said Nancy Young, a Mama T’s B&B Board Member. “Without community support from companies like Gateway, we wouldn’t be able to help as many people as we do.”
