Amplify Credit Union Teams With Ownwell

New partnership provides Texas homeowners a pay-for-success path to challenge over-assessed property values and reduce tax bills

Ownwell, a property tax technology company, has announced a strategic partnership with Amplify Credit Union to expand property tax appeal services for homeowners across Texas.

The collaboration is designed to help thousands of homeowners address rising property taxes by providing access to Ownwell’s technology-driven appeal platform at no upfront cost to Amplify members.

Under the agreement, members of Amplify Credit Union who own residential property in Texas will be able to use Ownwell’s proprietary system and licensed property tax professionals to challenge overassessed property values. Homeowners frequently pay one of the largest recurring expenses of homeownership in the form of property taxes, and many properties in Texas are assessed at values higher than market value. Ownwell’s platform targets these discrepancies by appealing valuations with local tax assessors to seek reductions.

Unlike traditional fee structures, Ownwell operates on a pay-for-success model: homeowners incur no cost unless their appeal results in a tax reduction. When savings are achieved, Ownwell collects a percentage-based fee tied to the tax bill reduction. This approach removes financial risk for homeowners while aligning incentives between the service and property owners.

“Credit unions have a unique relationship with their members built on trust and community impact,” said Colton Pace, CEO of Ownwell. “By partnering with Amplify, we’re able to help Texas homeowners keep more money in their pockets while strengthening that member relationship.”

Amplify’s leadership echoed this sentiment. JC San Pedro, SVP of mortgage banking at Amplify, emphasized the importance of supporting members through every stage of their homeownership journey and making property ownership more affordable.

"We often speak of the life-changing power of homeownership and how organizations like ours can support members at every stage of their homeowner journeys," said San Pedro. "We're excited to partner with Ownwell to make that process as affordable as possible for Texas families."

The partnership arrives ahead of the May 15, 2026 deadline for filing property tax protests in Texas, offering members a timely opportunity to take action. Ownwell also provides tools for homestead exemptions, bill reduction services, and home insurance monitoring to help reduce the overall cost of owning a home.
