Former mortgage fintech engineering leader will lead AI platform development for private markets

Keith Soura, the former engineering leader at Better.com, has been named chief technology officer at Arch, an AI-powered platform for managing private markets portfolios, marking another example of mortgage technology expertise finding applications across the broader financial services industry.

In his new role, Soura will oversee Arch's technical strategy, engineering organization, and product development as the company expands its artificial intelligence capabilities for banks, investment advisors, accounting firms, family offices, and institutional investors.

According to Arch, Soura will help the company evolve beyond workflow automation to develop AI tools that proactively surface portfolio trends, performance drivers and investment insights for customers managing alternative assets.

"As private markets make up a larger share of portfolios, the cost and oversight required to manage them has grown too, driven by manual processes, fragmented portals, and technology that hasn't kept pace," the company said in announcing the appointment.

Arch said a single private equity fund can require more than 5,500 clicks over its 10-year lifespan because of manual processes and disconnected systems. The company aims to reduce those operational burdens through AI-powered automation while improving visibility into private market investments.

"Private markets are entering a new era," Ryan Eisenman, co-founder and CEO of Arch, said in a statement. "For years, we've helped investors automate the operational work behind private investments. The opportunity is much bigger. We believe the future of private markets will be built on trusted infrastructure that doesn't just centralize information or automate work, but helps investors understand risk, operate with confidence, and make better decisions."

Eisenman added that Soura's experience building scalable technology platforms will be instrumental as the company develops systems that proactively deliver information and intelligence to investors.

Soura joins Arch after leading engineering at Better.com. Before that, he served as chief technology officer at proptech company VERO and was recognized as a 2025 HousingWire Tech Trendsetter for his work advancing AI-powered financial infrastructure.

"Private markets have always been data-rich and insight-poor, not because the information doesn't exist, but because the infrastructure to surface it hasn't," Soura said. "Arch already leads on the operational side. What excites me about this moment is building the layer on top: a system intelligent enough to tell you what matters across your portfolio before you've had to ask. That's what modern AI actually makes possible, and Arch is in the right position to build it."

Arch said it plans to continue expanding automation across private market workflows while introducing secure AI capabilities designed to help investors manage private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, real estate and other alternative investments.

The company said its platform currently supports $460 billion in private assets across 575 organizations, including four of the world's 20 largest banks and eight of the top 20 accounting firms.
