Cornerstone Capital Hires Industry Veteran Daryl Wizelman And His Production Team
Cornerstone Capital Bank expands its roster of experienced loan officers as lenders continue competing for top talent.
Cornerstone Capital Bank has added mortgage industry veteran Daryl Wizelman and his production team to its retail mortgage division, expanding its roster of experienced loan officers as lenders continue competing for top talent.
Wizelman joins Cornerstone Home Lending with more than 35 years of mortgage banking experience. The company said his team was attracted by Cornerstone's culture, operational support and investment in loan officer success.
Before joining Cornerstone, Wizelman owned and operated a financial services company from 1990 to 2007, growing it to 550 employees and $3 billion in annual loan volume, according to the company.
"Daryl brings the kind of culture, leadership, experience, and service mindset that align with Cornerstone's Mission, Vision, and Convictions," said Adam Laird, vice chairman of Cornerstone Capital Bank and CEO of Cornerstone Home Lending. "His team is known for building strong relationships by putting people first, staying committed to service, and finding solutions when others can't."
Wizelman said the move was driven by shared values.
"In a time where it feels like technology is what everyone is focused on, it's refreshing to know that a company values the human connection and people helping people," he said. "Technology is a key initiative at Cornerstone, but it's never prioritized above serving one another and helping our borrowers have an amazing mortgage experience."
Jay Crowell, president of Cornerstone's National Retail Division, said the team's experience and leadership align with the company's strategy and culture.
The Wizelman Team includes Area Manager Daryl Wizelman; Production Associate Lisa Guillo; Loan Processing Manager Robert Curiel; and loan officers Jason Wizelman, Randy Wagner, Sherrie Clark and Rick Wilson.
Cornerstone said it continues to invest in technology, operations and recruiting to support its retail mortgage business.
