Gateway First Bank announced its appointment of Jonathan Wallace as Chief Financial Officer. Wallace brings more than 24 years of experience to the role and has held various executive positions across multiple financial institutions.
Prior to joining Gateway, Wallace served as Chief Financial Officer at EnerBank USA, a division of Regions Bank, for just under two years. During his 14-year career at Regions Bank, he also served as Division Finance Executive for Strategy & Client Experience and for Enterprise Services.
Wallace kicked off his career in mortgage banking in Seattle-based Washington Mutual’s Mortgage Capital Markets Division, working on whole loan sales and securitizations. In his 10 years at Washington Mutual, Wallace held a variety of finance and Treasury roles supporting both the bank's retail banking and commercial banking.
Prior to joining Washington Mutual he worked as a Research Analyst at Grubb & Ellis providing market intelligence to commercial real estate brokers.
As Gateway’s CFO, Wallace will oversee all aspects of the company’s finance and accounting functions, including financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting and forecasting, funding, and asset and liability management. Wallace's new position also entails serving as CFO for Gateway Servco, LLC, and Gateway First Bancorp, Inc.
“We’re very excited to have Jonathan join the Executive Team, bringing both financial expertise and mortgage industry knowledge to lead our finance and accounting teams,” said Scott Gesell, CEO of Gateway. “I’m confident Jonathan will help keep the teams laser-focused on effectively managing our business while continuing to deliver on Gateway’s commitment to strengthening families and communities in today’s competitive market.”
