Launches new community impact and lending division.
Chicago-based Key Mortgage Services Inc. announced the hiring of Jason Brown as vice president, area sales manager, and the promotion of LaToya Spann-Martin as area sales manager and leader of the company’s new community impact and lending division.
“At a critical time in our industry when other lenders are reducing headcount, the appointments of Jason Brown and LaToya Spann-Martin are proof of Key Mortgage’s commitment to supporting our loan officers and clients,” said Ralph Melbourne, president of Key Mortgage Services. “We are laying the foundation to increase volume by investing in sales leadership, expanding to new markets and sending a clear message that we aren’t going anywhere.”
Spann-Martin has been with Key Mortgage since 2018 and, in her elevated role, will launch the firm’s community impact and lending division. As part of the company’s commitment to housing equality, this division is dedicated to growth, education, and outreach in underserved communities, leveraging existing financial literacy and lending partnerships to empower prospective clients and increase homeownership.
“I believe building generational wealth through homeownership strengthens the fabric of families and the neighborhoods where they live, so I am honored to lead a team dedicated to understanding the needs of underserved communities,” said Spann-Martin. “I look forward to working closely with agents, community leaders, non-profit organizations, and local businesses to identify lending opportunities that support the growth and success of families living in low- to moderate-income neighborhoods.
Brown joins Key Mortgage from Chase and brings 23 years of lending experience to the company. In his new position as area sales manager, Brown will support Key Mortgage sales by focusing on long-term growth and personalized business plans to help loan officers meet their individual goals.
“I was drawn to Key Mortgage because it’s continually investing in its loan officers and giving them opportunities to grow their business and strengthen referral partner relationships,” said Brown, who also credits the unique partnership between Key Mortgage and parent real estate firm Baird & Warner as a motivation to join the company.
“We are confident that Jason and LaToya will excel in their new roles at Key Mortgage and help lay the foundation for our continued success,” added Melbourne. “Jason’s decision to join our company speaks volumes about the values and culture we foster within our organization, where our employees feel supported in growing their business and providing exceptional customer service. Elevating LaToya to helm our Community Impact and Lending Division represents an investment in new markets and reinforces Key Mortgage’s commitment to making homeownership more equitable and accessible for all.”
