Industry vet is expected to drive growth and equity.

New American Funding announced that Mosi Gatling has joined the company as senior vice president of Strategic Growth and Expansion.

Mosi Gatling

According to Modex, Gatling averages about $5 million in loans per month. She specializes in loans to previously underserved communities and has been in the industry for more than a decade.

Gatling is also passionate about growing Black homeownership in the U.S., reshaping how the industry connects with minority communities, and increasing representation in the industry.

"This role offers me a platform to be more than just a loan officer," Gatling said. "Being at NAF will allow me to have greater impact on the mortgage industry as a whole and move the business to a better place. There needs to be a shift in the industry's approach towards Black homeowners, moving away from outdated messaging and processes that belittle the situation and the people."

In her newly created role at NAF, Gatling will also be involved in recruitment and will work on creating impactful marketing and business strategies based on her experience and understanding of the Black community.

"We are very excited to welcome Mosi to the NAF team," New American Funding Co-Founder and CEO Patty Arvielo said. "I frequently say that by the time I leave this industry, I want there to be more women and people of color in leadership positions. It's long been a passion of mine to lift people up and put them into positions where they can thrive. Mosi is a proven leader in the mortgage industry and is passionate about making a difference. We believe that she will be a great asset to our company and will help us to continue to grow and succeed."

Gatling's appointment represents a commitment to building a more equitable future, according to a press release.

Previously, she worked at loanDepot as a sales manager and before that she was at Guild Mortgage.
