Former COO Justin Messer succeeds Tim Wilson, who remains as chairman.
Prosperity Home Mortgage, a Chantilly, Va.-based independent mortgage bank, said Wednesday it has promoted Justin Messer to president and CEO.
Messer succeeds Tim Wilson, who had served in both positions since 2014. Wilson remains with the company as chairman of its board of directors.
The changes were effective as of Jan. 1, the company said.

Messer most recently served as Prosperity’s chief operating officer, where he developed a keen understanding of the company’s operations, culture, and growth strategies, the company said.
With his unique vision and leadership, it said, Messer will continue to ensure Prosperity maintains its innovative spirit while striving to meet the needs of all the communities it serves.

“Tim and I have worked together for many years, and his strategic insight and vision have been at the center of Prosperity’s continued success,” Messer said. “I look forward to leading Prosperity to its next stage of growth and performance, supported by our outstanding loan officers and world-class management team and talented employees.”
Prosperity is a subsidiary of HomeServices of America, one of the nation’s largest real estate companies. HomeServices CEO Gino Blefari expressed gratitude for Wilson’s leadership.
“Tim’s leadership helped guide Prosperity to become a national mortgage bank expanding its licensed footprint to 49 jurisdictions and building a wide range of loan products,” Blefari said. “On behalf of HomeServices, we thank Tim for his many contributions, and we wish him well as he enters this new chapter of his life.”
Wilson praised Messer as the right person to succeed him. “Having worked closely with Justin for nearly 10 years, I know he has the skill and drive to lead Prosperity to new levels of success,” he said. “He has a passion for our team, and I am excited to see the bright future that lies ahead for Prosperity under his leadership.”
Blefari agreed. “Justin brings exceptional leadership qualities to Prosperity and the HomeServices executive team, and we look forward to continuing to work with him in the months and years to come,” he said.
Prosperity Home Mortgage LLC is a full-service mortgage banker specializing in residential and refinance loans. It operates in 49 jurisdictions and from 2021-22 funded $25 billion in production.
