Longtime executive returns to oversee Rocket's $2 trillion servicing portfolio

Rocket Mortgage has named Nicole Beattie chief servicing officer, bringing the longtime executive back to lead the company's servicing operations a year after its acquisition of Mr. Cooper Group.

Beattie joined Rocket 22 years ago as a mortgage banker and most recently served as CEO of Rocket Close, the company's title insurance, property valuation, and settlement services business. She previously led Rocket Mortgage's servicing team for more than four years.

"Nicole started her Rocket career 22 years ago as a Mortgage Banker, then went on to lead both Closing and Servicing," Rocket Mortgage President and CEO Jay Bray wrote in a LinkedIn announcement. "She went on to lead Rocket Close as CEO and helped guide our Redfin integration."

Bray described her return to servicing as a homecoming.

Beattie will oversee operations covering monthly mortgage payments, escrow, taxes and insurance, as well as assistance for borrowers experiencing financial hardship.

Rocket's servicing portfolio totaled $2 trillion in unpaid principal balance across 9.1 million loans as of June 30, following its $14.2 billion acquisition of Mr. Cooper in October 2025.

The appointment comes after Rocket completed the migration of its servicing clients onto a single platform, one of the largest such integrations in the industry.

The company has made that portfolio central to its strategy for generating additional loan volume from existing customers.

As NMP reported following Rocket's second-quarter earnings, existing servicing clients accounted for 57% of Rocket's refinance volume during the quarter, up from 54% in the first quarter. Recapture from the legacy Mr. Cooper portfolio also reached another record.

The strategy gives Rocket an opportunity to retain borrowers when they refinance, purchase another home or seek home equity financing, potentially reducing the cost of acquiring repeat business.

Beattie previously led Rocket's servicing operation before becoming CEO of Amrock, now Rocket Close, in November 2021. At the time, the servicing portfolio she oversaw exceeded $500 billion.

Her return places her in charge of an operation roughly four times that size, based on the portfolio balances reported at the two points in time.

Rocket also announced that Jared Bourcier is moving from finance into servicing as executive vice president. He will oversee subservicing, specialty servicing, master servicing, and business operations, according to Bray.

The two appointments come as Rocket continues integrating the businesses acquired through its Mr. Cooper and Redfin transactions.

When Rocket announced its agreement to acquire Mr. Cooper in March 2025, CEO Varun Krishna told NMP that the servicing portfolio would support a broader borrower-retention strategy extending beyond traditional refinancing to home purchases, cash-out refinances, and second mortgages.

The company subsequently reported that it had retained subservicing and recapture services on nearly 80% of the mortgage servicing rights it sold during the second quarter of 2026.

Beattie and Bourcier will now help oversee the servicing business that supports those efforts.
