Music is a 2013 graduate of Indiana University with a bachelor's degree in economics. He joined Ruoff Mortgage that year as a member of the retail sales team. He was named vice president, direct sales, in November 2016, and in May 2019 was promoted to senior vice president of direct sales.

Over the past decade, his involvement has played a pivotal role in establishing the company’s direct-to-consumer division that helps homeowners across the country experience a fast and customer-focused loan process, the company said.

On the back end, Music helped initiate and implement the creation of the Ruoff Institute of Mortgage Operations, which seeks out talented individuals and provides them with the training and mentorship to enter the mortgage industry well equipped for success.

“Ruoff Mortgage has proudly been a Fort Wayne-based, family-owned company since its inception in 1984,” said Mark Music, owner and CEO. “I’m confident our late founder, Dave Ruoff, would be proud to see that his legacy continues to be preserved and is now set to begin a new chapter — the third generation of our family business.”

He added that, “Having the opportunity to work more closely with my son will be a special opportunity as I play out the last few years of my tenure. Blake is well prepared for this next step having already served 10 successful years with Ruoff.”

“I’m very honored to have the opportunity to carry on the legacy of my grandfather and the business’ namesake, Dave Ruoff,” Blake Music said. “We have a company full of great people who are focused on giving our customers the best experience in the home finance industry, and I’m very excited to see what we can accomplish in the coming years.”

Ruoff Mortgage is licensed in 46 states and the District of Columbia, and has 59 branch locations in eight states, according to the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS). Over the past 12 months, the company has originated 10,200 loans totaling $2.07 billion, according to Modex.
