Washington Trust Bancorp Welcomes Debra M. Paul and Angel Taveras to Board of Directors
Industry leaders bring varied expertise to enhance Washington Trust Bancorp's board composition and strategic vision.
Washington Trust Bancorp, Inc. announced the appointment of Debra M. Paul and Angel Taveras, to its board of directors, effective March 1, 2024.
Paul is a former certified public accountant and most recently served as CEO of Fellowship Health Resources, Inc., a subsidiary of Elwyn. Following her tenure as CEO at FHR until December 2021, she assumed the role of senior vice president of integration at Elwyn, overseeing strategic partnerships until June 2022. Paul's professional background includes serving as Chief Financial Officer at FHR and holding executive finance positions at Women & Infants Hospital and KPMG, LLP. Currently, she serves on the board and chairs the Audit Committee for both Blue Cross Blue Shield Rhode Island and Amica Mutual Insurance Company.
Taveras brings extensive leadership and legal expertise. Taveras recently joined Adler Pollock & Sheehan P.C. as senior counsel, following his tenure as a partner at Womble Bond Dickinson LLP. He previously served as shareholder at Greenberg Traurig LLP and was mayor of the city of Providence, RI from 2011 to 2015. Taveras holds degrees from Harvard University and Georgetown University Law Center and is an adjunct professor at Providence College. He serves on the boards of Lifespan Corp., National Civic League, and IKEA Foundation.
