Thousands of mortgage brokers from across the nation will gather at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center for The National Association of Mortgage Brokers 2007 Annual Convention and Exposition, NAMB Reigns. The program is all about business, of course, but there will be plenty of opportunities to see old friends, unwind on a spectacular championship golf course and enjoy the cuisine and culture of the largest city in the Northwest. It all starts with the NAMBPAC golf outing Thursday morning, June 21 at the fabulous Druids Glen Golf Club. The course offers breathtaking views of Mount Rainier and boasts its own micro-brew pub. In addition to the outing championship, golfers will compete in longest-drive, closest-to-the-pin, straightest-drive and hole-in-one contests. Thursday evening, brokers will come together for a pre-convention reception and buffet dinner more than 500 feet above the ground at Seattles famous Space Needle Observation Deck. There, they will be treated to spectacular 360-degree views of Seattle, Mount Rainier, the Cascade and Olympic Mountains, Lake Union, and Elliot Bay. Fridayafter a day of educational courses, committee meetings and the NAMB Delegate Councilspirits will soar during the Opening Reception at the Boeing Museum of Flight. The museum features more than 20 of the worlds most significant flying machines including a replica of Boeings first aircraft, a World War II Corsair, the famous Blackbird spy plane and a replica of the Wright Brothers glider. Saturday morning will feature roundtable open discussions on key topics such as marketing, correspondent lending and how to recruit and keep quality people. The first general session will focus on the inspiring success story of Seattles Pike Place Fish Company. Breakout sessions Saturday afternoon will explore risk management, how to use Fannie Mae mortgage products and small commercial lending. There will also be an update on critical NAMB government affairs activities. The highlight on Sunday will be the second general session entitled Nobody Moved Your Cheese and featuring Ross Shaferthe six-time Emmy Award winning television talk-show host, comedian and motivational speaker. Sunday afternoon features Exhibit Extravaganza, the opening of the exhibit hall featuring hundreds of exhibitors displaying the latest broker products and services. Monday will be a day of more practical educational courses and breakout sessions, as well as another opportunity to tour the exhibit hall. The Gala Reception, dinner and showcase takes place Monday evening, featuring Mike Rayburn, the award-winning speaker and entertainer known as The Worlds Funniest Guitar Virtuoso. He delivers a presentation that is both energizing and entertaining, featuring astounding guitar creations, uproarious songs and mesmerizing presentation skills. A casino and cabaret follows where brokers will try their luck at the tables amid live music, dancing, drinks and prizes. Its a program not to be missed.
