Thornburg welcomes Mark PlastersMortgagePress.comexecutive vice president, national sales manager, sales and marketing
Thornburg Mortgage
Inc. announced that Mark Plasters has been named executive vice
president and national sales manager for the company's growing
mortgage origination channels.
In this newly created role, Plasters will head the national
expansion effort of Thornburg's origination sales network. His
primary responsibility will be to facilitate growth on the
origination side of Thornburg's business, ensuring that the
company's correspondent and wholesale channels receive the sales
and marketing support they need in order to effectively expand.
"In 2006, Thornburg Mortgage achieved annual mortgage
originations of $5.6 billion, which was an increase of 13 percent
year over year," said Thornburg Senior Executive Vice President and
Chief Lending Officer Joseph Badal. "In this phase of our
development, we believe that hiring industry veterans will be a key
factor in our ability to continue to fuel origination growth.
Mark's extensive experience and senior level contacts throughout
the mortgage banking industry should allow us to maximize our
potential for origination growth. By adding him to our team, we're
gaining a talented professional who will not only facilitate
continued growth, but also ensure Thornburg Mortgage continues to
maintain its responsible and disciplined approach to mortgage
lending."
Plasters joins Thornburg from GMAC Bank and Residential
Funding Group, where he was most recently the managing director of
correspondent sales in the Northwest division. His geographical
responsibility included overseeing sales directors in 18 states,
focusing on loan acquisition through various means including flow
loan delivery, bulk acquisitions and assignment of trade. Plasters'
group successfully achieved growth in market share and production
volume during his tenure. Plasters' experience spans more than 26
years in the mortgage industry, including sales and operations,
managing national accounts and originations growth in correspondent
and wholesale channels. He has previously worked for a number of
additional notable companies, such as GE Capital Mortgage Services
Inc. and Norwest Mortgage.
