Gateway Mortgage Group Chooses MCS for REO and Property Inspection Services

Apr 03, 2012

Gateway Mortgage Group has selected Tampa, Fla.-based Mortgage Contracting Services (MCS) to streamline the property-related management of its servicing portfolio. MCS is a nationwide provider of property preservation, inspections and real estate-owned (REO) property maintenance to the financial services industry. As Gateway expands its servicing portfolio and grows its newly opened subservicing unit, the company needs additional support to effectively manage these properties and to remain in-line with both national and local guidance around specific property ordinances and for various loan types. MCS will provide Gateway with various inspection services, from occupancy determination to property condition inspections, while providing ongoing preservation services, including the monitoring of various property ordinances, for Gateway’s pre-sale and REO properties. “MCS’ team has extensive expertise in the property preservation of GSE loans, especially FHA,” said Kevin Osuna, vice president of default services for Gateway. “With our new subservicing unit specializing in these types of loans, the partnership is a perfect fit. Because of its leadership in the field services industry, we are confident MCS will provide Gateway with the tools necessary for success in our servicing endeavors.” Gateway selected MCS based on its experience and commitment to quality performance coupled with an ability to provide nationwide services as Gateway continues to expand. In addition, MCS’ Dallas location is in close geographic proximity to Gateway’s corporate office and predominant market.  “We are excited for the opportunity to partner with Gateway for its field services needs and to help serve its customers and the communities in which it operates,” said Caroline Reaves, Mortgage Contracting Services' chief executive office. “Gateway provides a new alternative in specialty and default servicing, and we embrace the opportunity to work with this company as it expands these efforts across a broader market.”
