Stearns Lending Names Tom Hunt EVP of the National Retail Division

Stearns Lending Inc. has announced the appointment of Tom Hunt as executive vice president of its National Retail Division. In this position, his responsibilities include management and oversight of retail mortgage banking production activities throughout Stearns’ network of 69 retail branch offices and its affiliated loan officers. “We are pleased to welcome Tom to Stearns Lending and its rapidly growing retail business channel,” said Brian S. Hale, CEO at Stearns Lending. “The addition of an executive with Tom’s experience and expertise significantly boosts our ability to grow intelligently by hiring and retaining the industry’s most talented loan officers and providing superior loan production capabilities—all with the goal of delivering customer-centric solutions to borrowers across the nation.” Prior to joining Stearns Lending, Hunt was a principal of CoachFord Investments LLC, a privately held portfolio lender and investor. Before launching CoachFord, he served as divisional sales leader at MetLife Bank, where he was responsible for retail mortgage loan production for the western U.S. From 2002 through 2008, Hunt held several leadership positions in the retail lending business channel at Countrywide Home Loans, culminating in his role as managing director–Retail Division West, with responsibilities that included management of production, operations and P&L for the western half of the U.S. and oversight of more than 400 production locations and 7,000-plus employees. During his tenure as divisional executive vice president at Countrywide, he led the most profitable, highest producing and largest market share division in the company’s retail division. Earlier in his career, Hunt served as district manager at North American Mortgage Company, responsible for retail and wholesale production, operations and P&L in Southern California (Los Angeles and Inland Empire areas).
