Oct 02, 2013

Embrace Home Loans has announced its expansion into the Metro Boston area and the addition of Gonzalo Puigbó, branch manager to the company's new Waltham, Mass. retail office. “We are excited about getting into the Metro Boston market,” said Mike Watkinson, senior vice president of Embrace Home Loans. “It presents one of the nation’s greatest growth opportunities for us.” Hiring Gonzalo Pugibó is the first step in attaining that growth." A native of Venezuela, Pugibó brings a deep personal commitment to his work on behalf of low- and moderate-income families, especially in Latino communities. His commitment began in 1999 as a Producing Sales Manager at Citizens Bank, ensuring that low income families receive the best First Time Homebuyer programs available in the marketplace. As a result, he earned the distinction of being the #1 Mortgage Originator Nationwide for Community Lending business for 2004 and 2005. In 2006, Pugibó joined Eastern Bank and became Regional Sales Manager of Emerging Markets. Most recently, Pugibó worked with Southbridge Savings Bank and Bank of America, while serving on the board of 2 major community organizations in Metro Boston, Compass Working Capital and Wayside Youth & Family Services. “Embrace Home Loans’ foundation is built on a set of values I share personally,” Watkinson said, “values that shape how we conduct business every single day. We are committed to treating our customers, our business partners, and our employees with respect and dignity. We are equally committed to the communities where our employees, their families and our customers live. Hiring Gonzalo embodies who we are as a company.” On a volunteer basis, Gonzalo teaches first-time homebuyer classes and provides workshops on community lending at local nonprofit organizations, including Compass Working Capital, and at North Shore Community College.
