Generation Mortgage Adds Three New Branch Managers
Generation Mortgage Company (GMC) has announced that Lance Canada, Greg McDermott and Jim Becker have joined the company’s sales team as retail branch managers. Canada and McDermott are responsible for overseeing GMC’s loan offices in the eastern region, with Canada managing the company’s North Carolina sales team and McDermott managing an area that includes New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland. As branch manager of the pacific region, Becker’s duties focus on leading GMC’s loan offices in Idaho, Washington and Oregon.
“Generation Mortgage is currently experiencing unprecedented growth within our retail sales organization,” said GMC Chief Sales Officer Cheryl MacNally. “Our goal is to recruit the top sales talent in the HECM industry, and the addition of Lance, Greg and Jim to our team is evidence of our success in this arena. Each of these men brings significant experience to GMC, and we believe their leadership is essential to further developing the retail side of our business.”
With 17 years in the mortgage industry and nine of those years devoted to conversion mortgages, Lance Canada is an experienced HECM professional. Prior to joining GMC, Canada worked with TowneBank Mortgage as a reverse mortgage loan originator and spent seven years with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in the roles of sales supervisor and reverse mortgage consultant. He also held a range of positions at several wholesale sub-prime lenders and operated his own business for 16 years. Canada is one of only 70 people to attain the Certified Reverse Mortgage Professional designation from the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association and has been a Certified Senior Advisor since 2003.
Greg McDermott came to GMC from LeaderOne Financial, where he served as northeast area manager. He also held the position of reverse mortgage sales manager with MetLife Home Loans and spent six years with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, including four years as a reverse mortgage sales manager and two years as a reverse mortgage consultant. Before joining the HECM industry, McDermott worked in business development and sales for various top-tier brands, including UPS and GE Capital.
Jim Becker most recently held the role of branch manager at Bay Equity after spending 16 years with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage as the reverse mortgage area manager for Oregon and southwest Washington. During his tenure at Wells Fargo, he achieved membership in both the company’s prestigious President’s Club and Leader’s Club numerous times for production and management. Becker began his career in the aviation industry, working with Air Wisconsin and Evergreen Aviation before becoming an entrepreneur. He ran three small businesses before discovering the HECM industry in 1996.
