MBA Education, the Mortgage Bankers Association’s educational initiative, presented E. Michael Rosser, CMB, with its inaugural MBA Education Lifetime Achievement Award, which will be named after Rosser when it is presented to future winners. Rosser received the award in a ceremony held at MBA's 100th Annual Convention & Expo in Washington, D.C. “Mike is truly a legend and an institution in this industry, having attended his first event with his parents in 1948 at the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association in Galveston,” said E.J. Burke, MBA Chairman. “Known for his bow ties, he has served MBA as our former MORPAC chair – among numerous other positions – and also headed the Colorado Mortgage Lenders Association. Mike has received more awards and recognitions than even he can probably remember. I could not be more pleased to add one more to his mantle, the first ever ‘E. Michael Rosser MBA Education Lifetime Achievement Award.’ I believe it will carry with it the same excellent reputation and pedigree as its namesake long into the future.” Rosser is a graduate of Colorado State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in history and government, and Northern Colorado University, where he was awarded a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning. During his storied career, he earned his Master Certified Mortgage Banker accreditation, the highest professional honor within the real estate finance industry. After a long career in the mortgage insurance field, he most recently served as national account vice president with United Guaranty until his retirement in 2011. The E. Michael Rosser MBA Education Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to an individual who has shown outstanding service to the Association, Certified Mortgage Bankers Society and the real estate finance industry.
