The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) announced J. David Motley, CMB, president of Colonial National Mortgage, a division of Colonial Savings, F.A. in Fort Worth, TX as chairman of its 2014 Residential Board of Governors (RESBOG) and Michael S. Malloy, deputy general counsel & Mortgage Policy and Counterparty Relations Executive of Bank of America Home Loans in Calabasas, California as the vice-chairman of RESBOG, at the association’s 100h Annual Convention & Expo.
RESBOG is the governing body for MBA's single-family residential members, responsible for establishing legislative and regulatory policies and positions on residential lending issues.
"Dave and Mike’s experience in the mortgage-finance industry and within MBA have positioned them well to create a comprehensive legislative and regulatory agenda this coming year,” said MBA Chairman E.J. Burke, vice president and group head of KeyBank Real Estate Capital.
“I’d like to thank David for returning as chairman of RESBOG, and recognize that under his leadership, he has helped guide MBA through an important time, as regulations stemming from Dodd-Frank have been implemented and other important policy considerations have been raised, said Burke. “His involvement will only continue to bolster the best interests of the real estate finance industry and lay the groundwork for a productive future.”
Motley and Malloy presently sit on MBA’s Board of Directors and both have been active MBA members. Motley is continuing his role as chairman of RESBOG and was a member of MBA’s Council on Residential Mortgage Servicing for the 21st Century, while Malloy has been actively involved in major MBA policy initiatives as an MBA board member well as a member of RESBOG.
