MortgageKeeper Referral Services, the developer of MKDirect and MKDesktop, released its January 2014 usage figures. MKDesktop users made 97,725 referrals in January—breaking the previous single month usage record. Heat and utility assistance, with more than 14,000 referrals, was the most utilized category. Other highly referred categories included local employment resources, food assistance, housing counseling, rental housing, and Hardest Hit Funds. “It’s not surprising, especially given the harsh winter we are facing, that requests for help were higher than ever,” said Rochelle Nawrocki Gorey, president of MortgageKeeper Referral Services. “Our users report MKDesktop makes their job easier and they can quickly connect borrowers in trouble with local help. We are helping servicers to provide high touch service to their customers.” Mortgage servicing agents, customer service staff, and housing counselors all rely on MKDesktop to provide immediate referrals that reduce household expenses. Subscribers to MortgageKeeper’s applications provide struggling homeowners with a list of exhaustively researched, best-in-class nonprofit and government agencies in mere seconds. Often the agencies are located just a few miles from the homeowner. Founded in 2005, MortgageKeeper Referral Services’ current subscribers include Ocwen Loan Servicing, Centier Bank, RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing, LoanCare Servicing, and Bayview Servicing and other top five mortgage servicers. MortgageKeeper made more than 1.2 million referrals in 2013.
