American Brokers Conduit (ABC)—the wholesale division of American Home Mortgage Investment Corporation, a publicly held mortgage real estate investment trust—is pleased to announce the addition of Katrina Smith as the company's new senior vice president, wholesale. Smith joins ABC with more than 20 years of experience in the real estate finance industry, including business-to-business relationship management, sales management, technology adoption and business development.
Smith previously served as the vice president, national accounts at Countrywide Financial Corporation. She also served as director at Freddie Mac and was a key player in the launch of Loan Prospector on the Internet—an automated underwriting service for mortgage originators. Smith was first introduced to the mortgage broker community through her experience as membership director at the Mortgage Bankers Association of America.
"Katrina's background in relationship management, technology adoption and program rollout, with an eye toward targeting top brokers and increasing broker production, is an exceptional fit for ABC's immediate and long-term objectives," states Lisa Schreiber, ABC executive vice president, wholesale. "Katrina's extensive experience and enthusiasm are the qualities that will help us continue to differentiate ourselves from the competition."
In her new role, Smith is responsible for supporting the delivery of tools and resources to ABC account executives and broker partners. She will work closely with project teams and branches to understand processes, and develop plans to drive key initiatives such as increasing adoption of ABC's Web site capabilities.
"I saw a company with a solid business model, agility of technology and a commitment to delivering quality service," shares Smith. "ABC values its employees and customers. These are important qualities a company needs in order to succeed, especially in today's industry. I look forward to the exciting challenges ahead of me and having the opportunity to contribute to ABC's success."
