Mar 24, 2014

GSF Mortgage has announced the addition of Ed Pollack to their team as branch manager in Orlando, Fla. Pollack has prior experience in real estate, land sales, residential mortgages and IT. Pollack joins GSF Mortgage with over 25 years of experience. He is a graduate from the University of Central Florida with a degree in accounting and a minor in real estate. Pollack started his career as a Realtor in 1989. In the mid-1990s, he began originating. In the early 2000s, Pollack also became a computer consultant, working on network design and support. This was a period when outsourcing caught on and the dotcom crash hit. “I got started by reading the FSBOs in the Sunday paper, wrote down the information on index cards and started making calls,” said Pollack. As a devoted father of two young boys, Pollack decided to focus solely on mortgages, as they are more flexible but offer continuing relationships. In order to make himself known in the community, Pollack is an avid volunteer and the head coach at sons’ school. He sees it as a way of networking but also supporting his sons’ education. “Ed comes to GSF Mortgage with drive and passion. His grass-roots approach mixed with modern industry trends will ensure his success in his market. We are pleased to welcome him to our family,” said Mike Maida, national sales director. Pollack has been in the Orlando area for 35 years and believes in being known in your community. He uses LinkedIn as a medium to maintain his business relationships but also understands the importance of face-to-face meetings. He plans on getting involved with construction loans in the area. Dennis Tarnowski has also signed on with GSF as a loan originator, working in GSF's Brookfield, Wis. location. Tarnowski will be working under Andy Newman, branch manager. Tarnowski comes to GSF with nine years of experience. Prior to joining the industry, he worked in several different areas of the manufacturing industry including estimating, customer service and inside sales. With these skills, he was encouraged by a friend to get into the mortgage industry. “These roles helped build a great foundation of experience that I am able to utilize as a mortgage loan professional,” said Tarnowski. “It was a tough decision to change careers but I was motivated to be part of an industry that was truly customer focused.” Tarnowski delights his customers by going the “extra mile”. He tells each and every one of them “I am here to earn your referrals because referrals are earned and not given.” He welcomes all referrals and promises to add value to their mortgage experience. He is passionate about being the mortgage “go to” guy, whether it is from customers or Realtors. "We are very excited to have a seasoned Loan Officer like Dennis join our team. Dennis brings a wealth of knowledge in the industry and we are looking very forward to having him represent GSF Mortgage,” said Newman.
