Appraisal Institute Issues Guidance on Arbitration
The Appraisal Institute has published a guidance designed to help appraisers understand their role when retained in an arbitration.
The Appraisal Institute’s “Guide Note 16: Arbitration” details how real estate valuation professionals are able to provide services in arbitration matters as arbitrators or expert witnesses. The Guide Note also explores what services a real estate valuation professional can provide in an arbitration matter, what standards and ethical rules apply to different services, and the expectation of potential clients regarding the valuer’s role in the arbitration process.
The eight-page Guide Note is now available for free download.
