Fifth Third Bancorp has announced that John Adam has been named Fifth Third Mortgage national sales leader

Fifth Third Bancorp has announced that John Adam has been named Fifth Third Mortgage national sales leader. Prior to joining Fifth Third, Adam served as executive vice president at Stearns Lending. Adam will report to Fifth Third Mortgage President Ed Robinson.

“John brings deep industry expertise and has a strong track record of motivating and managing sales teams, said Phil McHugh, head of the Consumer Bank for Fifth Third. “John’s diversity of experiences in start-up operations and established divisions within companies will be a strong asset to Fifth Third.”

Adam will be responsible for leading the national sales team of more than 400 mortgage lending officers. Prior to joining Stearns, Adam served as Bank of America Home Loans’ senior vice president and divisional sales executive. He has more than 25 years of experience in sales management, business development and change management.

“John has an established record of leading teams through change–in both bank and non-bank lenders across the mortgage industry,” Robinson said. “We’re excited for him to lead our strong and growing national team; moreover, bringing John into our team further demonstrates Fifth Third’s commitment to growing our mortgage lending capabilities and expanding the dream of home ownership.”

Robinson recruited Adam for his strong leadership with mortgage loan officers through talent acquisition and retention, and to help lead the team in achieving the Bank’s $30 billion Community Commitment. The five-year Commitment was developed in collaboration with the National Community Reinvestment Coalition. The plan was developed to positively impact the communities served by Fifth Third through mortgage lending, small business lending, community development loans and investments, and Fifth Third Impact Initiatives, including philanthropy, housing and small business-related investments, financial empowerment programming, branches and staffing, and inclusion and diversity.
