Academy Mortgage has announced the promotion and hiring of three new Vice Presidents, as Rob Shockley has accepted the role as Academy’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources; John Norman has been named Vice President of Risk Management; and Abby Hawkins is now Vice President of Learning, Training and Development.

As a 24-year member of the Idaho State Bar, Shockley has extensive experience representing individual and institutional clients in personnel matters, civil litigation, administrative hearings, insurance matters, strategic planning, and risk management. Shockley joined Academy in 2016 as a member of the Production Leadership Team.

Norman previously served as Academy’s Chief Compliance Officer, overseeing the company’s compliance management system.

Hawkins is new to Academy Mortgage, bringing extensive experience and education in instructional psychology, design, development, and technology. She leads Academy’s onboarding, training and personal and professional development initiatives.

“We greatly value the strong leadership skills, unique experience and vast knowledge that Rob, John and Abby bring to our team,” said James MacPherson, President of Academy. “Each of them and the teams they manage play a vital role in helping our company fulfill its vision to inspire hope, deliver dreams, and build prosperity through our mortgage solutions and services and our community outreach.”
