PRIA Elects Officers and Directors

The Property Records Industry Association (PRIA) has elected seven Directors in three categories to serve two-year terms on the Board of Directors.

The Property Records Industry Association (PRIA) has elected seven Directors in three categories to serve two-year terms on the Board of Directors.
 
Larry Burtness, Recorder, Washoe Co., Nev.; Chris Walker, Clerk, Jackson Co., Ore.; and Cathy Recker, Recorder, Putnam Co., Ohio, representing the Ohio Recorders Association; were elected Directors in the Recorder Category. This is Recker’s first term on the PRIA Board of Directors.
 
Zachary Zaharek, Senior Corporate Counsel, Data Trace–a subsidiary of First American Financial Corp.; Charlie Epperson, Chief Technology Officer, SigniaDocs; and Myron Finley, Chief Legal Officer, Nationwide Title Clearing Inc.; were elected Directors in the Business Category. This is Finley’s first term on the PRIA Board of Directors.
 
Mark Ladd, Vice President of Regulatory & Industry Affairs, Simplifile, was re-elected for a two-year term as an At-Large Director. Directors continuing for the second year of a two-year board term are Annette Hill, Assistant Commissioner/City Register, New York City Department of Finance, N.Y.; and Diane Swoboda Peterson, Real Estate/Recorder Deputy, Woodbury Co., Iowa; representing Government Recorders.
 
Ann Richards, Director of Sales and Marketing, Pioneer Technology Group; and Kelly Romeo, Vice President, American Land Title Association (ALTA); continue into their second year representing the Business Sector.
Jerry Lewallen, President, eRecording Partners Network; and Nancy Sotomayor, Deputy of Recording, Douglas Co., Colo.; will continue on the Board for a second year as At-Large Directors.
 
The new board convened Aug. 31, to elect officers for one-year terms. The 2016-17 officers were unanimously re-elected for 2017-18. They are Ladd, who was re-elected President, Burtness continuing as Vice President, Swoboda Peterson serving as Secretary and Zaharek re-elected Treasurer.
 
“I am honored to continue to lead PRIA for the upcoming year and to serve on the 2017-18 Board of Directors with such a committed group of volunteers,” said Ladd. “During the years, I have been involved with PRIA as a member, contract employee and now volunteer, I have seen this organization grow and prosper into a national voice in the real estate industry. I am excited about our strategic goals for the coming year and the continued evolution of the PRIA standards.”
