United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) President and Chief Executive Officer Mat Ishbia made a taped appearance on a recent airing of The Doctors on CBS to announce a $25,000 gift Two survivors of the recent Las Vegas mass shooting received a surprise gift of $25,000 from Troy, Mich.-based United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM).

 

UWM President and CEO Mat Ishbia made a taped appearance on today’s airing of the syndicated talk show “The Doctors” to announce the gift for Amber Smith and Michaela Clark, who were appearing on the program to discuss their story. In the video, Ishbia told the recipients, “[United Wholesale Mortgage] is all about helping people make their dreams come true. We work with independent mortgage brokers throughout America to help people reach that dream [of homeownership]. When we saw this horrible tragedy in Las Vegas, we thought of all the victims and thought ‘How can we help?’ So we wanted to give you a $25,000 gift from UWM and all the independent mortgage brokers in America. We’re thinking of you and wish you nothing but the best and a speedy recovery to you and all the other victims in Las Vegas.”

Smith and Clark both underwent surgery following their respective injuries during the shooting and are the subject of a GoFundMe campaign to cover the costs of their medical care.
