Guild Mortgage Social Raises $170K-Plus for Three Charities
Guild Mortgage’s Guild Giving Foundation, a non-profit created to expand community relations efforts across the country, recently hosted its inaugural Charity Golf and Dinner Social, raising more than $174,000 for three local San Diego area charities: The Monarch School, Urban Corps of San Diego County and the San Diego Rescue Mission.
More than 200 people, including business and community partners, sponsors and Guild employees, participated in the tournament, which was held the Rancho Bernardo Inn. Guild’s event committee members secured an impressive array of auction items from the San Diego Padres, Century Club of San Diego and many lodging and hospitality venues, including a four-night stay at a private residence in Lake Tahoe and a firefighter experience package that included a ride on a fire engine and dinner at the station.
“We are pleased to support the great work being done here each day by the Monarch School, Urban Corps of San Diego County and the San Diego Rescue Mission and, thanks to the efforts of so many, this inaugural tournament exceeded our expectations,” said Mary Ann McGarry, President and Chief Executive Officer of Guild Mortgage. “These three organizations are driving positive changes in areas that we feel very strongly about, so we’re proud to support their efforts as part of our dedication to giving back and working to inspire change in the communities we serve.”
The Monarch School has served San Diego for nearly three decades, evolving from a one-room education center to a comprehensive K-12 school dedicated to educating homeless youth. Urban Corps of San Diego County has established a unique work-learning program that allows youth to finish high school while earning a paycheck, learning real-world job skills and giving back to the community. The San Diego Rescue Mission has provided housing, meals, mental health counseling and educational programs to aid in the fight against homelessness for more than 50 years.
Master sponsors of the tournament and fundraiser were Informative Research Inc., Lockton Insurance Brokers LLC and NAI San Diego. Dinner sponsors were Arch Mortgage Insurance Company, CoreLogic, EverBank and Solidifi.
Guild Mortgage launched the Guild Giving Foundation to encourage volunteerism, support financial literacy, deliver on the commitment to provide shelter and inspire positive change in the communities it serves across the United States. Guild supports dozens of local and national charities through direct donations and company-backed volunteer time under its Guild Giving programs.
