"To quote Malada Yousafzai, 'I raise up my voice—not so I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard ... we cannot succeed when half of us are held back.' I am so honored to be part of NAWRB's Diversity Council," said Smith. "I am most looking forward to being a part of this extraordinary organization and connecting with the talented group of women who are leaders and who speak so that those who have no voice can be heard and can succeed. My goal is to raise my voice to advance women and help in the growth of the organization."

As VP of Diversity and Inclusion, Teresa manages her organization's commitment to increasing diversity within its company, extending to their broker network and affiliated sales professionals. Teresa brings 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, and frequently speaks at national and local events. She previously served as VP of Business Development and Cultural Initiatives at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties and President of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP).

"Teresa is a welcomed addition to the Council, and we look forward to having her stand beside us at the front lines of gender equality," said Desiree Patno, Chief Executive Officer and President of NAWRB. "With her professional and personal experience with diversity, Teresa is intimately aware of the importance of inclusion and the necessary steps for increasing opportunities for women in the housing and real estate ecosystem."
