United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) has announced that it will be covering the costs of borrowers’ appraisals on all conventional loans originated by its brokers through the end of the year.

UWM President and Chief Executive Officer Mat Ishbia used a Facebook Live webcast to announce the promotion, which covers conventional appraisals with a credit of up to $525 to borrowers at closing.

“I want to give you an advantage that nobody has,” said Ishbia. “I want to help you differentiate yourself with borrowers and real estate agents.”

Ishbia added that he hoped to continue this promotion beyond 2018.

“As you grow, we grow,” he said.
