Pending Home Sales and Prices Up in New York State

There were 21,192 new listings and 12,835 pending sales in New York during April, according to new data from by the New York State Association of Realtors. This represents a 2.4 percent year-over-year increase in listings and a 1.2 percent year-over-year increase in sales.
 
Median sales prices in the state during April shot up by 6.3 percent $271,000, marking the 40th consecutive month that the median sales price is up in a year-over-year comparison. Inventory inched up from April 2018 by 1.1 percent to 64,531 homes for sale across the state, with a 5.8-month supply of homes.
 
The most significant downward movement in the state last month involved closed sales: 8,931 transactions, down 2.3 percent year-over-year.
