New PR Firm Focuses on Mortgage, Fintech Worlds

A former mortgage magazine editor and an ex-corporate communications officer for a mortgage data firm have teamed up to launch a public relations agency serving the mortgage, real estate and fintech worlds.
 
Jacob Gaffney, former editor-in-chief at HousingWire, and Alyson Austin, former principal for media and public relations at CoreLogic, are the founders of Gaffney Austin. The company’s operations will be divided between Plano, Texas, and A former mortgage magazine editor and an ex-corporate communications officer for a mortgage data firm have teamed up to launch a public relations agency serving the mortgage, real estate and fintech worldsIrvine, Calif., with the corporate message that it is “time to rethink how corporate communications messages are being sent and received.”
 
“I have known Jacob for nearly 10 years,” said Austin. “When he approached me to create this unique partnership, I jumped at the opportunity. After 20 years of pitching to the media, I realized I would finally have a news media expert by my side. I couldn’t resist this chance to change the industry.”
