The Empire State Mortgage Bankers Association (ESMBA) has announced that it has made a $2,500 donation to the Island Harvest Food Bank to support those in need of food during the COVID-19 pandemic

The Empire State Mortgage Bankers Association (ESMBA) has announced that it has made a $2,500 donation to the Island Harvest Food Bank to support those in need of food during the COIVID-19 pandemicIsland Harvest was created in 1992 by Linda Breitstone, its founder, who was infuriated that food from a local convenience store was being thrown away at the end of the day–with a safe house for women and children just down the street. Since its inception, Island Harvest has delivered 130 million pounds of food, supplementing 108 million meals.
 
ESMBA is an organization of mortgage banking businesses in New York State, whose members handle tens of thousands of mortgage loans each year.
 
“The ESMBA has supported and donated to Autism Speaks, Toys for Tots and Blue Star Moms,” said Stephen Probst, director and Education Committee co-chair of the ESMBA. “This association will continue to find opportunities to help the people who live in the State of New York that we continue to serve.”
