Twelve 11 Media – the Las Vegas-based publisher of Mortgage Banker magazine and Mortgage Women magazine – today announced that its operations have been merged with those of American Business Media LLC, publishers of National Mortgage Professional magazine and NMP TV.  Photo of Ben Slayton.

“This is a great opportunity for us to bring these properties together, furthering our goals of being the definitive information sources for all corners of the mortgage industry,” said Ben Slayton, who, with his wife, Dawn V. Slayton, founded Twelve 11 Media. “Dawn and I are thrilled to see these dynamic products all under one roof.”

In addition to leading Twelve 11 Media, Slayton is well respected and experienced mortgage company visionary. He is currently guiding his mortgage company, Legacy Home Loans, to be the largest Black-owned mortgage lender in the nation.

“I’ve been thrilled to be the creator of these magazines and their online newsletters,” Slayton said. “But I’m called to fulfill this mission with my mortgage company. And to do that, I needed to team these publications with a company that can bring them greater resources and attention. And I don’t think I could have found a better organization than American Business Media.”

AmBiz, based in West Hartford, Conn., already publishes the nation’s most widely read mortgage magazine – National Mortgage Professional – and through its Originator Connect Network is the largest producer of mortgage conferences in the United States. AmBiz also produces magazines, tradeshows and email newsletters for the retail banking and credit union industries Banking Northeast magazine, BankWorld and the Great New England Credit Union Show.

Photo of Vincent ValvoVincent Valvo, CEO of AmBiz, said the union of the two companies will allow it to offer advertisers an even broader reach to more diverse sectors of the mortgage field. “While NMP focuses on the sales channel and product opportunities, Mortgage Banker magazine’s focus is on company strategy, compliance and operations. And bringing Mortgage Women magazine into our fold helps us better reach this critical demographic.”

Twelve 11 Media’s properties are all now part of American Business Media’s portfolio. Ben Slayton continues to work with Mortgage Banker and Mortgage Women magazines as Founding Publisher, providing strategic insight and direction.

“Ben is a legend in the mortgage industry, for his entrepreneurship, his keen understanding of mortgage lending, and his ethical approach to business,” said Valvo. “That’s the kind of company culture we foster at AmBiz, and it’s a big reason we’re thrilled to be working with Ben and everyone from Twelve 11 Media as we combine our organizations.”
