Arch Promotes Michael Schmeiser To CEO Of Global Mortgage Group

Arch elevates longtime executive as part of broader leadership changes announced by the mortgage insurance provider

Arch Capital Group Ltd. has promoted Michael Schmeiser to CEO of Arch Global Mortgage Group.

Schmeiser joined Arch in 2017 and has served as President and CEO of Arch U.S. Mortgage since 2019. He will continue to report to Arch President Maamoun Rajeh.

The company also announced the promotion of Jerome Halgan to CEO of Arch Global Reinsurance Group. Halgan joined Arch in 2009 and most recently served as President and Chief Underwriting Officer of Arch Reinsurance Group.

"Jerome and Michael are experienced leaders who are deeply grounded in Arch's underwriting culture and corporate values, and they have consistently outperformed through market cycles," Rajeh said in a statement.

Schmeiser said he looks forward to working more closely with Arch's global mortgage businesses.

"I'm proud to step into this role leading the world's foremost provider of mortgage credit risk solutions," Schmeiser said. "I look forward to applying my knowledge of our U.S. operations to our other Global Mortgage businesses and collaborating more closely with our teams around the world."

The appointments follow the recent expansion of Rajeh's role as President of Arch. The company provides insurance, reinsurance, and mortgage insurance products worldwide through its wholly owned subsidiaries.
