Construction Lending Veteran Mike Elam Joins Partner Residential Consultants
Mortgage technology and construction risk executive will serve as relationship manager supporting residential construction lenders
Partner Residential Consultants has appointed Mike Elam as relationship manager, where he will focus on growing the firm's Residential Construction Services business by developing client relationships, expanding business opportunities, and supporting lenders throughout the construction lending process.
Elam also will help clients access the broader engineering, due diligence, and technical consulting capabilities available through Partner Engineering and Science, Inc.
Elam brings more than 25 years of experience across financial services, mortgage technology, construction lending, and residential construction risk management. His background includes helping financial institutions and construction lenders build national programs while managing construction risk throughout the lending lifecycle.
"Mike brings a strong combination of residential construction lending expertise, operational knowledge, and industry relationships," said Larry Manchester, director of construction services at Partner Residential Consultants. "As we continue expanding our Residential Construction Services practice, his experience and client-focused approach make him an excellent addition to our team."
Before joining Partner, Elam held leadership positions supporting financial institutions, construction lenders, and government-backed lending programs. His experience includes developing and managing programs for single-family, multifamily, commercial, and SBA lending, including initiatives serving Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD.
His work has spanned the full construction lending process, including pre-construction reviews, feasibility assessments, draw inspections, permit reviews, and post-closing services.
According to the company, Elam has overseen a $55 million national operation, expanded more than 165 national client accounts, and supported programs processing more than 12,000 transactions per month. The company also said he helped pioneer one of the mortgage industry's earliest online mortgage marketplaces and supported residential construction programs completing more than 133,000 projects annually.
"Partner has the breadth and depth of services that are second to none," Elam said. "What attracted me most was the opportunity to leverage those capabilities to better support clients throughout the construction lending lifecycle while continuing to build on the relationships I've developed over the years."
