Jonathan Warrick Takes Helm At dv01 As Founder Perry Rahbar Moves To Fitch Advisory Role

Jonathan Warrick has been named head of dv01, succeeding founder Perry Rahbar in the top leadership role at the structured-finance data and analytics provider.

Warrick, dv01’s first employee, most recently served as chief operating officer. Rahbar is transitioning to a strategic adviser role at Fitch, where he said he will support Warrick and remain involved in dv01’s long-term direction.

“Jonathan was my first hire — an engineer, appropriately enough — and has served as our COO this past year,” Rahbar said in announcing the transition Monday. “He has helped build virtually every part of the company and knows our clients, our team, and our business inside and out.”

Warrick joined dv01 approximately 12 years ago as an engineer. Before joining the company, he worked in financial analytics and modeling, including as a decision science lead analyst at Barclaycard. His background also includes experience at Ernst & Young.

Rahbar founded dv01 in 2014 to improve access to loan-level data and analytics within structured-finance markets. The company connects lenders, issuers, investors, and other capital-markets participants through products used for loan-pool evaluation, securitization reporting, portfolio management, and market surveillance.

Fitch Group acquired dv01 in 2022, making the company a wholly owned subsidiary of Fitch Solutions. At the time, dv01 said it would continue operating as a separate company while using Fitch’s resources to develop products and enter additional markets.

Its mortgage-related offerings include non-agency residential mortgage-backed securities benchmarks, Non-QM and prime jumbo benchmarks, and a Non-QM prepayment model. The leadership change therefore places a longtime technology and operations executive in charge as loan-level data and artificial intelligence become increasingly important across mortgage capital markets.

“There’s no one better equipped to lead dv01 into an age of AI that will surely transform our industry and every other one out there,” Rahbar said.

Rahbar said the transition would not change dv01’s client teams, services, or existing commitments.

“And I’m not disappearing,” he said. “As a strategic advisor, I’ll be supporting Jonathan and staying close to dv01’s long-term vision.”
