New TPO capability lets Encompass lenders process retail and broker-submitted loans through the same point-of-sale system
nCino is bringing broker-submitted loans into the same point-of-sale platform used by its retail mortgage customers, targeting lenders that operate across both channels but still rely on separate borrower and origination workflows.
The company’s new TPO Experience will allow mortgage brokers to submit loans through nCino Mortgage Point of Sale. The loans will then be assigned to an originator at the lending institution and transferred into ICE Mortgage Technology’s Encompass loan origination system with the appropriate channel designation and third-party originator information.
For lenders operating both retail and wholesale channels, the pitch is operational consolidation: one borrower-facing platform, one document-upload experience, and fewer disconnected workflows for compliance and reporting.
“Growth in the wholesale channel is putting more pressure on lenders to eliminate the operational divide between their retail and wholesale businesses,” said Casey Williams, general manager of global mortgage at nCino. “TPO Experience gives lending teams a consistent, efficient path to originate loans, no matter how they come in.”
The announcement comes as wholesale lenders capture a larger share of the origination market. Citing Inside Mortgage Finance, nCino said wholesale accounted for more than one in five mortgages originated during the first quarter of 2026, representing an estimated annualized market of $440 billion.
That growth is giving lenders another reason to examine whether their technology can accommodate shifts between retail and broker-generated production without maintaining two separate front-end systems.
Where It Fits With Encompass
The new capability enters territory already served in part by ICE Mortgage Technology’s Encompass TPO Connect, a lender-branded portal that allows third-party originators to submit and manage loans.
According to ICE, TPO Connect enables brokers to view pipelines, order credit and automated underwriting, submit lock requests, deliver and electronically sign loan packages, and manage conditions. Borrowers will be able to apply, upload documents, and track their loan through the same nCino interface regardless of which channel generated the transaction.
That could appeal to banks, credit unions, and independent mortgage banks that use Encompass but want the nCino platform to remain their common front end. It also extends nCino’s mortgage point-of-sale product beyond the retail growth strategy highlighted when Cornerstone First Mortgage adopted the platform.
The expansion follows nCino’s approximately $1.2 billion acquisition of SimpleNexus, announced in 2021 and completed in January 2022. The acquired company’s mobile-first technology became the foundation of nCino’s mortgage point-of-sale business.
TPO Experience is scheduled to become available to nCino Mortgage customers using Encompass in late 2026. nCino said it plans to support additional loan origination systems but did not identify those providers or provide a timetable.
