New VP Fuad Nasir To Drive Hedging, Trading Innovation At Optimal Blue
Tech provider has appointed Fuad Nasir as vice president of product management to enhance hedging, trading, and risk analytics capabilities across its capital markets platform
Optimal Blue has named Fuad Nasir vice president of product management for hedging and trading, bolstering its capital markets leadership as mortgage lenders navigate heightened volatility and margin pressure.
In his new role, Nasir will help drive the next phase of innovation within Optimal Blue’s hedging and trading platform, with an emphasis on strengthening risk visibility, improving model oversight, and equipping capital markets teams with tools to manage pipeline risk and protect profitability.
His work will focus on more tightly integrating hedging strategy into the company’s end-to-end capital markets platform, allowing lenders to connect risk insights directly to daily pricing and execution decisions.
“Capital markets leaders are operating in one of the most complex environments we’ve seen in years,” said Erin Wester, chief product officer at Optimal Blue. “Hedging can’t function in isolation. It has to be tightly connected to pricing, execution, and performance analytics. Fuad will work alongside our experienced hedging and trading product team to accelerate how risk insight is embedded into the workflows our clients depend on every day.”
Nasir emphasized the importance of unified capital markets infrastructure in improving lender decision-making.
“Optimal Blue sits at the center of the capital markets workflow for so many lenders,” Nasir said. “The opportunity to further integrate hedging, pricing, and trading capabilities within a unified platform is compelling. Lenders need precise risk insight and execution confidence, and I look forward to helping expand the tools and analytics that support those outcomes.”
Nasir joins Optimal Blue following nearly two decades at Mortgage Industry Advisory Corporation (MIAC), where he held senior leadership roles within the firm’s secondary solutions group. During his tenure, he advised institutional lenders on hedge strategy, pipeline risk management, and trading across multi-billion-dollar portfolios, while also contributing to mortgage servicing rights valuation and capital markets advisory initiatives.
