PrimeLending Celebrates 40 Years In Mortgage Lending
National lender marks four decades of serving homebuyers while emphasizing its commitment to personalized guidance and technology
National residential mortgage lender PrimeLending, a PlainsCapital Company, is marking its 40th anniversary, celebrating four decades of helping homebuyers and homeowners finance their homes.
Founded on July 8, 1986, in Dallas, PrimeLending has grown into a nationwide lender serving borrowers in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The company said it has continued to adapt to changing housing markets, evolving technology, and shifting consumer expectations while maintaining its focus on simplifying the mortgage process.
"Forty years is an incredible milestone, but what means the most is the opportunity we've had to be part of so many families' homeownership journeys," President and CEO Steve Thompson said in a statement. "Every loan represents someone's dream, a new beginning, or an important life milestone."
Today, PrimeLending operates 198 branches with 763 loan officers, including 695 producing originators, according to Modex. Over the past 12 months, the lender originated approximately 18,675 residential mortgages totaling $6.48 billion. Purchase lending accounted for the majority of the company's production over the past year, with 12,371 purchase loans totaling $4.35 billion, compared with 5,460 refinances totaling $2.01 billion.
