Fintech that lowers costs for servicers and expedites outcomes for borrowers

Sagent, a provider of mortgage servicing technology, has launched a new platform aimed at improving collaboration between mortgage servicers and their legal partners.

The Dara Attorney Portal is designed to help law firms manage foreclosure and default cases more efficiently through a shared interface that allows for real-time data access, document sharing and communication with servicers. The portal is the latest addition to Sagent’s Dara Default suite of tools.

Company executives said the tool was built to reduce operational friction during the mortgage default process, potentially lowering costs for servicers and expediting outcomes for borrowers.

"The Dara Attorney Portal reflects Sagent's commitment to maximize operational efficiency for all mortgage servicing stakeholders," according to Sagent Executive Vice President of Strategic Growth Perry Hilzendeger. "By providing attorneys with a centralized platform for case management, Dara delivers faster solutions for servicers, attorneys, and homeowners."

Among the portal’s features are a unified login system, real-time access to servicing data, and integration with Sagent’s servicing systems — including LoanServ and the forthcoming Dara Core. Attorneys can upload and manage documents, view case updates and automate certain workflow processes, according to the company.

Sagent said the product was developed in part based on feedback from its legal partners. Cynthia Treadwell, the company’s general counsel, called the tool “a game-changer” that would allow attorneys to better support mortgage servicers in foreclosure and bankruptcy proceedings.

The platform is now available to law firms working with Sagent’s client base.

Based in the United States, Sagent provides software solutions to mortgage servicers, focusing on automation, compliance, and customer service tools.
